Sandy Martin M.D., J.D., F.A.A.D.
Dr. Sandy Martin M.D., J.D., F.A.A.D. was born in New York and moved to Florida as a youngster where he has continuously resided except for education. Sandy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Miami School of Arts and Sciences. He continued at the University of Miami School of Medicine and received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1976, graduating as an awardee of the National Honor Medical Society. He continued his studies at Jackson Memorial Affiliated Hospitals as an intern in Internal Medicine in 1977 and then studied Dermatology at the world class Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, Texas where he was appointed chief resident. In 1980 Dr. Martin passed his specialty boards and was certified by the American Board of Dermatology. He is also, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and has been voluntarily re-certified. Additionally, he is a member of American Medical Association, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and is a 2002 summa cum laude Law School graduate from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad School of Law.
Sandy has authored and co-authored numerous scientific articles including one relating to a vascular process being studied today as a way to fight cancer, and an important dermatology atlas that won an Honorable Mention for Excellence in Professional and Scholarly Publishing.
Sandy has practiced Dermatology for over twenty years concentrating on the management of sun damaged skin and skin cancer. He was one of the early owners of dermatologic laser technology in Florida and currently has a special interest in cosmetic dermatology. Sandy enjoys performing procedures such as laser tattoo removal, Botoxä for wrinkles or hyperhydrosis, photofacials to rejuvenate and treat sun-damaged skin and rosacea, and laser treatment of psoriasis.
